About our Speaker:

Les Kiss is one of Australia’s most respected rugby coaches, with more than two decades of elite coaching experience across Australia, Ireland, England and South Africa.

Born in Bundaberg, Queensland, Kiss first made his name as a professional rugby league player with the North Sydney Bears, representing Queensland in State of Origin and Australia at international level. After retiring from playing, he transitioned into coaching and built an impressive career spanning both rugby league and rugby union.

His coaching résumé includes senior roles with the South African Springboks, NSW Waratahs, Ireland, Ulster Rugby and London Irish. During his eight years with Ireland, he helped guide the team to three Six Nations Championships and a Grand Slam victory in 2009.

In 2024, Kiss returned to Australia as Head Coach of the Queensland Reds, leading the team’s resurgence in Super Rugby Pacific. In 2025, Rugby Australia announced that he would succeed Joe Schmidt as Head Coach of the Wallabies from mid-2026, tasked with leading Australia towards the 2027 Rugby World Cup on home soil.

Known for his strategic thinking, defensive expertise and people-first leadership style, Kiss is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished Australian coaches of his generation.
