About Ciaran:
Ciaran grew up in Greystones, Co. Wicklow and is a CEO and Board Director in the media, sports and entertainment industries.
Commencing his career managing Irish Permanent’s sponsorship of the Irish rugby team at the dawn of the sport’s professional era, Ciaran joined Denis O’Brien’s Communicorp Group Ltd as CEO of Dublin’s 98FM in 2000. He went on to become the Group’s COO responsible for commercial operations across Ireland, Europe and the Middle East.
In 2010, that path led him to Australia as CEO of Australian Radio Network (ARN) and in 2015, he became CEO of parent company, APN News & Media plc, transforming a highly leveraged, media conglomerate anchored in declining publishing assets into Australia’s most profitable broadcast and digital audio company.
He drove an audience-led growth strategy, brought world-class broadcasting talent to the network, grew the country’s largest podcast network, and built out a portfolio of media brands through acquisition and digital transformation.
Today, in a world where consumer attention is scarce and loyalty harder to hold than ever, Ciaran is focused on forward-thinking organisations reshaping their business models through new engagement formats, commercial innovation and AI technology-led strategies that build loyalty and drive profitable growth.
